IF WE CANCEL THE NIGHT
Ash...
Her lipstick, and her perfume. These are the elements of her essence & the distant memory of her that still linger on your skin. The ritual, is nothing new. Just the person, just the temptation & the imagination, the image of her body with yours as you smile & make polite conversation at the bar. No numbers & only 1st names exchanged, she bites your lower lip on the first kiss. Wanting no more, no less than just this, this single moment the only thing in the universe which matters. And at her place she pours you a glass of red wine as you look at all the books which says she's never read. You laugh & then she leads you by the hand. Puts on some music by Leon Redbone and lights one single candle. But this would never of happened if we were never born. This world, would never had happened, if we had merely cancelled the night. As the chorus repeats & song goes on " I wanna be seduced" And who could ever ask for anything more than this? Compared to mere existence?
Time unfolds all mysteries.

IN SAYING HELLO ONE MUST
IN SAYING HELLO
ONE MUST SAY GOODBYE
In saying hello
One must say goodbye,
To another
Then one other
And then someone will cry.
Tears of joy
Or tears of pain
In a room full of laughter
Or a room full of shame
For one shall touch
And another shall leave
Whilst one will love
And the other shall grieve
In loving smiles
Each to the other
Holding hands
And now new lovers
With immense drawn faces
Of passion & lust
Or eyes full of longing
Despair loss & dust
In moments fleeting
In moments of faith
In moments dreaming
“You are mine”
You say.
For in saying “hello”
One must say “goodbye”
One a true love
The other thrown aside
Holding onto
What’s left of
An
“I”
Or a
“You”
With hope or disbelief
Or nothing to view
Or worth dreaming about
At all anymore.
All beginnings
And all ends
Entwined forever
In one mere life.

DRAKE
The advantage of time and place in all practical actions is half a victory;
which being lost is irrecoverable"
~ Sir Francis Drake 1540 - 1596

Ok, so I’m a “Wizard”. Happy now? Do you know how people would see me these days, or what they would say if they were to find out? Hey, there goes “Drake The Wizard” with all their fear, their new age fakery & their Harry Potter novelties. The fans of Dr. Strange & Dr. Who all running to meet or get a glance of you looking for your autograph and asking you stupid questions continuously like you were at some sci-fi geek convention. Hell, there could even be a movie deal should I decide to write my story about how I’ve continued to live forever and how I keep coming back, again…again…and again. Where are you from? What is your exact nature? What cologne do you wear? Did you know George Washington? Can you tell the future? Is Dumbledore really gay?
I don’t care, I don’t know and all I do know is that I exist simply because I exist. Live with the knowledge and remember each moment, each lifetime and each love & keep on reliving the pain that never truly fades. Every victory & every failure, every hope & every dream just like it was yesterday. To start out as a primordial primitive God, and then to be promoted to what sums up as a shady angelic side-man for the boss. Then? Told to mix in & with all the new kids upon the earth of each passing century. It started to get fun after they stopped acting like monkeys. But honestly? I’m tired of all the bullshit that man-kind likes to induce. The drama, the wars and everything else. It just makes me want to take a walk, or astro-project somewhere else for a very long vacation. And England? Please, just leave me alone. Because that storm? It wasn’t very easy to conjure up at all & it took a helluva lot outta me. Besides, I hate killing when I’m told to do it & even when I’m not. But when the boss says “Do it” you “Do it”. Shit. It’s more fun to be a cat, or even a poet. A lover or just a friend. Mortal. Having drinks at the bar with all the kids. To be rich or poor, it’s karma. And all of the others? My kind? Oh, they are still around and here and there. Cleo? She lives on the west coast, Michael on the east selling benefits for some sorta health care plan or organization. And Aphrodite? Yep, it’s true. She’s a porn star.
So ok. Who am I? "I’m Drake". And I’ve been a whole lotta other people & some big names too. But hey? That’s what we do, what we are. Here’s your assignment, here’s your schedule, enlighten them all but don’t fuck up. It’s all in a day’s work or more like should I say “Forever” and a day. So I know. You want all your questions answered too. Like “Why are you here?” & “Who created the universe”
So stand in line … cause they haven’t even sent me the memo on that one yet.
But truthfully? The earth is a great place & the food is great. Just don’t ask me to give you my autograph or ask me if I carry a “Wand”
Because if you do?
I’ll erase your very existence from this planet!
Ha Ha(Just kidding)

WHY NLP IS PSEUDO-SCIENCE OR FAKE

Why Neuro-Linguistic Programming Is Fake:
Stop for a moment… and imagine what it would be like… saying a few words… and for every word you utter, people nod in complete agreement… slowly, surely, falling spellbound to your beautiful ideas… and for every phrase you utter, they agree… agree agree.
Snap out of it! If that were real, it would be so wonderful. Not.
It’s precisely to have this power that many search the web for ebooks, courses and tutorials on NLP. NLP or Neurolinguistic Programming is a recently developed branch of psychology that had been exploited by many trainers to create an army of enlightened individuals. The original objective of NLP is to empower people to expand their beliefs beyond the constraints of limitation. For instance, NLP practitioners, use it to destroy phobias. To create motivation. To inspire action. That was the original intent. But it no longer seems to be the case.
Scour the web for NLP, and you’ll find that it has been associated with “covert persuasion”. What was once a tool of empowerment transformed into a tool of mental enslavement.
The big question is: does it really work?
Or is it bullshit?
Stop right there. Think about it for a moment. And as you sit there, pondering the potential that NLP might have to explode your power over people… you begin to understand that NLP indeed has that power.
Hehehe.. I just used NLP on you. Did you notice how you were nodding? Agreeing. What does that say about NLP and it’s capacity to influence?
"Nope :)" Why?
Because NLP is Pseudo-Science!
http://knol.google.com/k/joe-greenfield/neurolinguistic-programming/2j6nlcky7q5vo/2#
NLP has now more recently been identified as one of a top ten most discredited interventions (Norcross et al 2008)The reason it is popular is because it is full of pleasant sounding myths. Unfortunately they are either myths or grossly misleading. Whatever good stuff is in there, it is so impractical to try to sift through that it makes NLP useless.
It certainly makes its adherants useless. They love the myths, but cannot face the reality (it failed proper testing). They try to dismiss the findings by leaning on relativist philosophies (everyones view is different). But of course, evidence is evidence, not every view is well informed.
Whatever you do, don’t admit to doing NLP. Its tantamount to admiting to being a scientologist.
More NLP nonsense:
Sharpley C.F. (1987). "Research Findings on Neuro-linguistic Programming: Non supportive Data or an Untestable Theory". Communication and Cognition Journal of Counseling Psychology, 1987 Vol. 34, No. 1: 103-107,105.
United States National Research Council:
USNRC produced a report, overseen by a board fo 14 academic experts, stating that "individually, and as a group, these studies fail to provide an empirical base of support for NLP assumptions...or NLP effectiveness. The committee cannot recommend the employment of such an unvalidated technique". The whole edifice of influence and rapport techniques "instead of being grounded in contemporary, scientifically derived neurological theory, NLP is based on outdated metaphors of brain functioning and is laced with numerous factual errors".
Sharpley’s 1984 literature review found "little research evidence supporting its usefulness as an effective counseling tool" no support for preferred representational systems (PRS) and predicate matching, then in a 1987 study states "there are conclusive data from the research on NLP, and the conclusion is that the principles and procedures of NLP have failed to be supported by those data".
Sharpley, C. F. (1984). Predicate matching in NLP: A review of research on the preferred representational system. Journal of Counselling Psychology, 31(2), 238-248.
Druckman and Swets (eds) (l988) Enhancing Human Performance: Issues, Theories, and Techniques, National Academy Press.
Neuromythology
Beyerstein.B.L (1990). Brainscams: Neuromythologies of the New Age. International Journal of Mental Health 19(3): 27-36,27.
Disillusionment
Efran, J S. Lukens M.D. (1990) Language, structure, and change: frameworks of meaning in psychotherapy, Published by W.W. Norton, New York. p.122
Mutual exchange of myths
In his book, The Death of Psychotherapy, Eisner couldn’t find ‘one iota of clinical research’ to support NLP. This is in direct contradiction to the claims made by NLP practitioners, who laud it as a great leap forward in understanding the mind. To be fair Eisner doesn’t just finger NLP he also demolishes; Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Cathartic Therapies, Recovered Memory Therapies, Humanistic Psychotherapy, Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy, Strategic Family Systems Therapy, NLP, EFT, CBT, BCBT, DHE, EMDR, Gestalt Therapy, Implosion Therapy, Palm Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Primal Therapy, Reframing, Thought Field Therapy, Direct Exposure Therapy, Spiritual Therapy and many others. The sheer scale of clinically unproven therapies is astounding. The Myth of Psychotherapy: Mental Healing As Religion, Rhetoric, and Repression by Thomas Stephen Szasz is similarly damning. His claim is that almost anyone can sit down with anyone else, have a chat, and call it psychotherapy. The practitioners are unaccredited, or self-accredited, and the theories scientifically unsubstantiated. It is the mutual exchange of myths.
(Quick Fix + Pseudoscientific Gloss) x Credulous Public = High Income
This is the description of NLP by Lilienfield et al (2002) who conclude that NLP is "a scientifically unsubstantiated therapeutic method that purports to "program" brain functioning through a variety of techniques, including mirroring the postures and nonverbal behaviors of clients" and include it in their description "
Scott O. Lilienfeld, Steven Jay Lynn, Jeffrey M. Lohr (eds) (2004) Science and Pseudoscience in Clinical Psychology
Grandfather of CBT dismissive
Even Albert Ellis, the grandfather of cognitive behavioral therapy, famous for developing REBT (Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy) specifically identified NLP as one of those, “techniques that are avoided”. This was the one therapy he abhorred because of its “dubious validity” (Dryden & Ellis, in Dobson, 2001: 331). Then again, Ellis published a book in 1965 entitled Homosexuality: Its Causes and Cure. Psychotherapists have a habit of seeing everything as a pathological condition that can be cured by their methods.
Hanging around in HR
Von Bergen, C W, Barlow Soper, Gary T Rosenthal, Lamar V Wilkinson (1997). "Selected alternative training techniques in HRD". Human Resource Development Quarterly 8(4): 281-294.
Grant J. Devilly (2005) Power Therapies and possible threats to the science of psychology and psychiatry Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry Vol.39 p.437
Von Bergen et al (1997) showed that NLP had been abandoned by researchers in experimental psychology and Devilly (2005) makes the point that NLP has disappeared from clinical psychology and academic research only surviving in the world of pseudo new-age fakery and, although no longer as prevalent as it was in the 1970s or 1980s… is still practiced in small pockets of the human resource community. The science has come and gone, yet the belief still remains"
Efran and Lukens (1990) stated that the "original interest in NLP turned to disillusionment after the research and now it is rarely even mentioned in psychotherapy".
Barry Beyerstein (1990) asserts that "though it claims neuroscience in its pedigree, NLP's outmoded view of the relationship between cognitive style and brain function ultimately boils down to crude analogies." With reference to all the 'neuromythologies' covered in his article, including NLP, he states "In the long run perhaps the heaviest cost extracted by neuromythologists is the one common to all pseudosciences—deterioration in the already low levels of scientific literacy and critical thinking in society. "
